What is the great canadian goalie race!
Every fourth game, goalies representing the six different-coloured sections of Air Canada Centre compete in a three-lap race around the ice. One lucky row in the winning goalie's section receives free pizza - hand-delivered by their victorious netminder.

PURPLE - DAVE (THE SAVE) DONALDSON
Dave Donaldson hails from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, home of the world's tallest moose statue. Before coming to Toronto, Donaldson worked with the famous Snowbirds, the Canadian Forces' jet flying team, who are stationed in Moose Jaw. When they performed at the 1999 Canadian National Exhibition, he fell in love with Toronto and decided to pursue a career in goalie racing in what he terms "the goalie-racing capital of the world." Donaldson lists Saskatchewan natives Bob Baun and Wendel Clark as his all-time favourite Leafs.
GREEN - (HANDSOME) JOHNNY LUCKOWICH
Johnny Luckowich grew up in the Manitoba community of Flin Flon, which is 800 kilometres north of Winnipeg. A loyal employee of the Hudson's Bay Mining and Smelting Company for 15 years, Luckowich was also charged with the care of the 24-foot statue of Josiah Flintabbatey Flontain, for whom the town was named. Former Leaf and Flin Flon native Ken Baumgartner suggested back in 1993 that Luckowich, who was looking for a change, move to Toronto and pursue a career in the growing sport of goalie racing. Luckowich has never looked back.
BLUE - (SMILIN') DENIS LEMIEUX
Not much is known about old Smilin' Denis Lemieux except that he hails from Chicoutimi, Quebec, smiles a lot and loves goalie racing. Lemieux is the only racer on the circuit with any professional goaltending experience. He played one season with the Charleston Chiefs of the old Federal League back in 1977 before they went belly up. He brings a veteran's presence to the competitions.
RED - GEORGE (ROSEY) LAROSE
Although George LaRose was born in Moose Factory, Ontario, he moved south to Cochrane at a very young age. The communities are linked by the famed Polar Bear Express train line, with which LaRose spent most of his 20s as a conductor. In his spare time, Rosey also served as the town's Zamboni driver at the Tim Horton Memorial Arena. The world of goalie racing was opened up to LaRose by Leafs mascot Carlton The Bear, who was in Cochrane during the summer of 1996. Carlton and the Leafs community relations staff were in town to help open the new Tim Horton Museum. LaRose has the distinction of being the winningest goalie on the circuit.
GOLD - DANNY (THE GOLDEN BOY) MACPHERSON
Ask anybody from Medicine Hat - or anywhere in Alberta for that matter - who the toughest player ever to come out of the province is and they'll tell you it's Leafs forward Darcy Tucker - or Danny (The Golden Boy) MacPherson. MacPherson's passions are goalie racing and the community of Medicine Hat; that's why he's back home every summer to run The Golden Boy Goalie Racing Academy for kids who are interested in fulfilling what MacPherson feels is the greatest dream in sport - to be a professional goalie racer.
PLATINUM - BROCK CH
